LIFE OF GENERAL JOHN SEVIER This is a very thorough biography of John Sevier including ancestral genealogy. Having served as governor of the ill-fated State of Franklin, he was elected the first governor of Tennessee, serving a total of six terms. He then served in Congress until his death in 1815.
